Join this session for tips on how to use your camera settings to creatively capture nature in a visually interesting way. We will be looking at composition, focus, and colour.
Many professional offices and places of business have large prints gracing their wall space of things such as fields of flowers, a butterfly perched on a leaf, and a single dew drop on a rose petal. These beautiful images are all around us in nature. It just takes that special "eye" to not only see it but to capture it in a way that will turn that simple little piece of nature into a beautiful piece of art. We will learn how to use different angles, light and shadows, and settings to make subjects pop.

Metering is how your camera evaluates the light of a scene. It is important to understand how your camera meters light and what you can do to control it so that you can achieve good exposures that represent the scene you are looking at. This session will look at the different metering modes available on your camera and what they are doing when you choose them. We will look at exposing for atmosphere, mood and accuracy. Attendees should have a fair knowledge of how to operate their camera in fully manual mode to get the most out of this session.

Photograph the beautiful light-trails of cars and other vehicles in motion, against the panorama of static architecture at night. for this class you will need a tripod and a zoom or wide-angle lens is preferable but you can still get good results with a normal prime or really any lens. It is the exposure and composition that is the important part. Hi-viz clothing and reflective jackets /clothing is advisable.
